A four-colour cinnabar lacquer square three-tiered box and cover, on a shaped foot, the top carved in deep relief with a boy riding on the back of a qilin before another standing figure carrying a long pole with hanging silk tassels, the figures on a riverbank among rockwork below willow branches and the moon, the ground carved geometric designs, the sides of each tier with flowering peony branches, the interior dark brown.
