Several years ago, while participating in the Pacific Asia Art Show at Fort Mason, San Francisco, we were fortunate enough to meet a distinguished looking gentleman on our stand. We knew Philip Cardeiro by sight and by his standing in the Chinese art community, but it soon became clear that his reputation for a keen eye was well deserved, as we discussed the Chinese art on view.
Over the following two years we made several trips to view and discuss Philip's collection of jades and it became clear that he had reached a point where he wanted to dispose of them, but only if an exhibition and accompanying catalogue could be arranged. Now in 2009, we have we are delighted to be able to fulfill that wish.
